Breast Cancer Survivor Program

The Meals to Heal Breast Cancer Survivor Program is designed to meet the specific needs of breast cancer patients before, during and after treatment. These needs include, among others, symptom and side effect management and weight management.

Our program will help educate and support breast cancer survivors regarding ways they can make informed lifestyle choices to help reduce their risk for cancer and other chronic diseases including osteoporosis, heart disease, overweight and obesity.

Symptom and Side Effect Management

Breast cancer treatment results in many nutritional side effects and symptoms that often make eating a healthy and balanced diet challenging. Our meals are individually tailored for each customer based on reported symptoms and side effects in order to help patients, and those who continue to experience side effects after having completed treatment, optimize nutritional intake.

Weight Management

Breast cancer patients and survivors often experience weight gain due to decreased activity, increased caloric intake and/or medications. Weight gain is associated with risk for breast cancer recurrence and can affect outcomes as well. Other breast cancer patients may lose weight and become under weight during treatment. Therefore, it is important to maintain a healthy weight during and after treatment. Our personalized weight management program can provide the self-management tools to help breast cancer patients and survivors achieve and maintain an optimal weight while ensuring proper nutrition. Lower calorie menu items are available to help promote a healthy weight in conjunction with the self management tools provided in our educational program.

Educational Materials

Breast cancer patients and survivors often struggle to find information on nutrition, exercise and wellness that is tailored to their specific needs. The Meals to Heal Breast Cancer Survivor Program provides an array of educational materials and resources for the breast cancer patient and survivor. These materials cover hot topics such as soy as well as practical tips for healthy living.
